Recently Amazon premiered a documentary titled “Mayor Pete” following Buttigieg on the campaign trail, ending with his reception for his current role as Transportation Secretary. Like the candidate it covers, the documentary itself is pretty bland and uninteresting. But viewed as a piece of political performance art, like a campaign trail book tour, it’s deeply revealing of Buttigieg’s ambition and the segment of media liberals who support him. Read more

The numbers are in, and people - people love socialism. But predictably, NYT continue to tells their readers, socialism actually isn’t that popular. One recent headline from Fredrik deBoer said as much: “My Fellow Socialists, We Aren’t Actually That Popular” the other headline once you click into the article, “Democratic Socialists Need to Take a Hard Look in the Mirror.” Both act as though socialism is weak, unpopular, and anemic, which in my estimation couldn’t be further from the truth.

In case you were wondering, restarting student loan payments is political suicide. In just a few months Joe Biden will be faced with a political decision that is incredibly consequential for millions of people in this country. That question? If his administration will restart federal student loan payments. Like so many tactics from the Dems, it makes us to ask if they even want to win.

In January when Democrats secured their Senate majority, it seemed as though they were on the precipice of actually doing something, potentially significant, but at the very least something. That died real quick.

In late April the Idaho state legislature passed a bill banning Critical Race Theory in the classroom and Idaho’s governor Brad Little quickly signed it into law. This timing put Idaho ahead of the curve for this kind of thing, but since then Critical Race Theory has become the right’s newest boogeyman of choice and debates around Critical Race Theory (CRT) have taken up rightwing air time and have received ample play at school board meetings across the country, including in Idaho where months ago some of the earliest inclining of this trend worked their way through the legislature.
